Classes and Events
Triad Pelvic Health believes that your mental, emotional, and social health are important parts of your overall wellness, in addition to your physical health. We host a variety of free community classes to create community and move towards wellness together. Check back often for new and updated offerings with our community partners.
Postpartum Support Group
Our next New Parent Support Group is led by Priscilla LeCompte, a certified perinatal mental health professional. This group is designed to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for new parents (6-week to 1 year postpartum) to share experiences, discuss common struggles, and receive emotional support from peers. Meeting weekly for 6 weeks, the group follows a cohort style with the same members throughout and is capped at 8 members to ensure an intimate and supportive atmosphere.
Members are welcome to bring their babies and join the circle on a yoga mat or chair. Groups are facilitated to follow a topic influenced by the needs of the group and to allow time for ample sharing. The general format includes check-in, mindfulness, introduction of topic, and discussion. Topics may include adjusting to life with a baby, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, boundaries, bonding with baby, invisible labor, returning to work, partner resentment, or changing roles and relationships.
This group aims to foster resilience, promote well-being, and build a strong community of support. Let’s connect, heal, and grow together in the journey of new parenthood.
Date/time: The next 6-week cohort will be held on the following schedule: March 25, April 1, 15, 22, 29 and May 6.
Cost: Free
When registering, you will only need to sign-up for the start date, not each individual week. For an optimal group dynamic, please be sure that you are able to attend the scheduled dates.
Mindfulness Meditation Class
This 30-minute class will guide you through an introductory mindfulness meditation practice. Participants are welcome to sit on a chair or floor cushion as Alison guides the class through focused breathing exercises and cues for present moment awareness. We will practice noticing what happens in the present moment (in the body and mind) without judgement or clinging. Don't worry, you need to chant or sit in full lotus.
Come as you are, no experience needed. Meditation helps to relax the mind and body, with the benefits adding up over time. We hope you will join us for this wonderful practice. At this time, the class is for adults only to minimize distractions.
Date/time: Fridays, monthly from 12-12:30pm
Cost: Free
